The KX3 has no isolation (the K3 does have isolation).
What you will normally find is that the isolation will lower the base
noise level. How much depends on your computer and soundcard - some are
pretty good already.
Jim Brown K9YC has good information in his documents on RFI that
advocate bonding the radio and the computer instead of using isolation
devices - that works well to, and almost makes using isolation as
"cheating", but with more and more computers coming in plastic cases,
the easy way out is to add isolation transformers.
For data modes, most any 1:1 transformers will do the job, but for the
I/Q outputs do require better transformers to obtain the full bandwidth
on the panoramic display.
