The setup is K3/144XV, TE Systems 4W in 200W out amp Elecraft W2 directional coupler, bias T ( for 12v to PRE), 9913 up mast to SSB pre amp to M2 12 element 2meter beam. When I test the SWR with the W2 it is vanishingly low on FM and CW, on modulated SSB its over 2.5 to 1. When I replace the K3/144XV with a Yaesu FT736R the SWR is way low in all modes. Why is the SWR so high from the K3 in SSB mode only? and how can I fix it? Thank you, cannot figure it out.
