As an audio professional, I don't see anything in the description to suggest the Koss headset would be better than the CM500, but I've seen positive comments about a certain model Koss headset that resembles the CM500 (sorry, don't recall that model number) from a member of the Ten Tec list, and I suspect it would work fine with the K3 (and with other ham rigs).
