I must agree the State QSO Parties and the NAQP are the way to go IMHO for WAS. But some use the spoon fed nets like the 3905 they are on every band now to do so even the WARC bands. I feel about the same way about the "DX Nets" where they help each other to complete the calls or signal reports where they continue for up to 5 min till finally the DX contact gets all the info on the caller (with help).
There are 2 bands that they aren't on though and those are the 2 bands I'm working on WAS on 160m SSB (using only the 160m contest) need 9 now and 6m still need a whole bunch there 8>). The more you work for an Award of any kind the more it means to YOU at least it does to me. I'm getting close to 5BDXCC and that is a goal at my age and health conditions anything more is gravy. 73, Fred/N0AZZ K3 Ser #'s 6730/5299--KX3 # 2573--K2/100--KAT100 P3/SVGA--KPA500--KAT500--W2 -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Bill Coleman Sent: Thursday, April 11, 2013 2:15 PM To: Doug Ellmore Sr. Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Hello from K3 Owner On Apr 10, 2013, at 1:45 PM, Doug Ellmore Sr. <[email protected]> wrote: > I am looking for help to get WAS completed. The North American QSO Party (NAQP) is tailor-made for low-power work, since the rules require everyone to use 100 watts or less. Field Day is great, as is the ARRL Sweepstakes. But the NAQP is twice a year, and is only 12 hours at a whack. You are already on LOTW, so that's great. I already have Basic, Phone, CW, Digital and 6-band WAS from Gwinnett county, and in a little more than a year, I worked Basic WAS from Floyd county using LOTW. 299 of my 300 confirmations for 6-band WAS came from LOTW. Only one, a 15m SC QSO, was on a card. Just get into the contests and operate, upload your logs and you'd be surprised how quickly those confirmations come in. You may find WAS so easy, that you move on to 5-band WAS. Good luck.
