Hans You're in for some big surprises with the KX3 I know that I have been for sure and it continues by the day since I received it in Jan of this year.
My contacts keep increasing in distance it seems and from home (the SW corner of MO.) using my vertical a AV-18HT most all the time on 10-80m. The internal tuner is fantastic and will tune everything I have thrown at it. Yesterday morning on 20m at 08:30 utc. I worked a VK2 with 10w and received a 59 from him had to ask twice the second for the true report it was still a 59. Yes I know propagation but still 10w and I copied him at 59+ 20 at 1000w, I was well pleased. That was my first time that far into Oceania for me. My 2 K3's sitting beside my KX3 are finding more free time lately same for the Alpha. Did turn both on last week to work a new one VK9CZ and had to wait the 5 min for the Alpha to warm up. I decided I needed to use the Alpha after I couldn't break the pileup with the other K3 and KPA500 they were very weak. 73, Fred/N0AZZ K3 Ser #'s 6730/5299--KX3 # 2573--K2/100--KAT100 P3/SVGA--KPA500--KAT500--W2 -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Hans Østnell Sent: Friday, April 12, 2013 3:40 AM To: [email protected] Cc: Elecraft Discussion List Subject: Re: [Elecraft] KX3 #3933 Alive and kicking!
