Another minor issue is that the audio drive will vary somewhat depending on which audio frequency is selected. i.e. 600 hertz vs 1800 Hz. will not exhibit the same energy to the radio. Soundcards are not flat, many rigs are not either.
So if you set levels for one (if RTTY, pair of) frequency, you can over/under drive the rig.
