I know this forum is for solving problems, but I've just got to let folks know Elecraft's got another happy KX3 customer. I finished my kit yesterday, and after charging the batteries for 12 hours, thought I'd give the radio a try. Hooked it up to my "Stealth Long Wire" antenna. Set power to 5 watts and sent CQ a couple times (from Naples, FL) and who comes back? DL8MX near Nurnberg, Germany! He gave me a 559 and we had a nice QSO. Not bad at all for the first QSO.
Everything went together perfectly with the kit, except for some missing screws which are probably on the floor around my work bench. It's just great to see American companies still turning out world-class products like Elecraft. 73, Ron Gruner K4RHG ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
