Best looking curve?? Can you elaborate Bob? It has been a while
since I set mine up and I have adjusted the sidetone somewhat to peak the
sidetone to my hearing. I need to go in and make sure the sidetone is still
in the center of the passband on the filters. I have never used Spectrogram
to adjust my DSP filters.

This is normal, Ken.
A good DSP filter has exactly the characteristics you describe.

When I use Spectrogram to adjust my crystal filters, I first set the
DSP to the desired bandwidth, then the XFIL, then do the adjustment
until I get the best looking curve.

Good luck and 73

Subject: [Elecraft] KDSP2 question

Is it normal that (according to Spectrogram) my new KDSP2's filters have
sharper skirts and far less ripple than the XFIL filters? I'm not talking
about the denoiser or the autonotch, just the bandpass filters. Is the
KDSP2 that good or are my X filters defective? Also, I'd like to hear from
other KDSP2 owners as to what they have "nr" and "nt" set to. I have these
values and they seem to work: nr 30 50 nt 50 00 Comments welcome....
