I still run Win98SE. It does everything I need for my radio operations.
I use an homebrewed logger for normal ops and contesting, it is
connected to the K3 through a 'real' serial port, to give freq/power
info for the log plus tuning/bandswitching from the keyboard.
The logger was developed using Borland Builder 4, it maybe dated but it
does the job very well.
I assume this K3 will still work OK after updating with the 'new'
Utility prog.
I use another computer which runs Linux, which I use for the Internet,
(I wouldn't use any Windows version for the web!!) this computer also
dual-boots to WinXP. I guess I will have to connect the K3 to this
computer to use the Linux version of the Utility prog for
updating/configuring etc. then switch back to the radio computer once
this is done.
Just realised, as I was typing this, the new Utility prog wont affect
the use of Linux.
