I don't believe Ten Tec has "outsourced" anything to China. They made an agreement with YouKits to offer their products in this county under the Ten Tec name. They did not design them nor request YouKits design them for Ten Tec. They were available for quite a while before Ten Tec picked up the agreement to market them in this country. In fact, they refused to market the 3 band version of the HB1A, due to concerns about it being able to reliably meet FCC TX purity specs. That is why they sell it as a 2 band version. I actually built a 3 band YouKits HB1A from a "bag o' parts" offered as a limited run kit back a few years. Mine worked fine, and was a good value for what it offered (and it met FCC specs with margin to spare)...
