FWIW, I've been running my K3 off of an Astron 20A for six years without a hitch.
Yes, the K3 is rated to draw more than 20A on some bands but not enough over to trip the over-current circuit. And the 20A is rated ICAS (intermittent commercial and amateur service), which is the load the K3 puts on it. The heat sinking in the 20A is plenty to handle that load without problem. Perhaps it's the curmudgeon in me, but I still avoid switching power supplies like the plague. But then I don't have to carry one around much. In the field I'm QRP and on batteries. 73, Ron AC7AC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
