Ed,
You may see both 4.9 MHz and some other frequencies at Q22 - it all
depends on the input signal and the VFO frequencies - thay can produce a
number of mixing products.
Do you have the problem on one band? If so, check the menu to see if RX
ANT has been turned on - that is a per band setting.
Since you have an RF generator and a 'scope, you have the equipment to
do Receive Signal Tracing to localize the problem to one stage. The
procedure is in Appendix E of the manual. If you do not have the
manual, you can download it from the Elecraft website.

I am borrowing this K2. I have had it for 2 weeks. The owner just had

It worked as advertised for almost 2 weeks. When I turned it on the
other day I got the INFO 80 message.
Looking at a few things I found that the +6 volt regulator had the
output pin not soldered to the bottom of the board. Re soldering
solved the Info 80 problem. Now the receiver is dead dead. not a
signal to be heard.
Using an rf gen, I can hear the signal loud in the speaker at all the
frequencies I used.. But still no signals anywhere with antennas
connected.
I believe there is a problem in the IF string.
At the base of Q22 I see a 1mhz signal. I believe this should be about
4.9mhz. At the mixer TUF-1(pin 4) I see the Rx VFO 8Mhz signal ok but
on(pin 1) I see 1.0 mhz.Any help?
