I was looking at adding a SVGA card to my P3 to make it more useful for RTTY when at FD or other remote activities. But after looking at the price of laptops I'm thinking of just getting a small one and having it alongside my K3. I don't have a need for the SVGA otherwise.
It would already have a keyboard, be able to run Elecraft utilities for quick redoing of any setups like macros or exchanges and also run MMTTY or similar rather than just depending on the RTTY decoder in the K3. If I go this way I'll probably try to figure out how to tap the K3 IF and run the bandscope on the laptop as well. That way I could leave the P3 in the shack. The logging functions are already provided elsewhere so this would just be a RTTY/bandscope/utility rig.
