YES. This is the point of my post -- when I can buy a really good AM/M RX for $44 and let it live in my living room, I don't need to spend for options to a $900KX3 to get a VERY good AM RX.
If you're backpacking in the boonies and want to listen to AM radio with your KX3, fine. But the Tecsun is a really good FM RX, which almost certainly provides better programming options with very little additional weight or cost.
