Hi Alden, It's a good question. I would suppose that it's advisable to get a monitor with a native resolution that matches the selections indicated in the SVGA manual. I'm not sure what happens when the two disagree. I would like to hear from folks that have gone through this exercise. Per the current manual the only resolutions available are: 1024x768, 1280x1040, 1440x900, and 1920x1080.
Elecraft also states in the manual that 1440x900 or less is best for Fixed Tune Mode. I prefer fixed tune mode and I have to say that the screen goes through a lot of gyrations when coming out of transmit or when I hit spots from within WriteLog. If I'm doing a lot of spot jumping I'll switch to Tracking Mode. A common feature of monitors is multiple inputs. If your PC has multiple monitor outputs then you would be able to use the new monitor as a secondary PC monitor as well as a P3 monitor. If you go this way you'll want a monitor that has front panel button for input selection as opposed to input selection through a menu. Enjoy your SVGA board. It really enhances the K3/P3 experience. 73, Mike K2MK atoyer wrote > I have recently received the P3SVGA and need to procure a suitable > monitor.
