Most of the motherboards I have looked at online recently do have a com port header on them, but no connector on the backplane. You can likely find a connector and cable at a computer parts and pieces store. A rotary tool with a diamond cutting blade can create an opening for mounting a connector. Mine is mounted just below the power supply.
