I buy from Mouser (good for small quantities) or DigiKey. I usually buy more than one resistor because of the minimum shipping cost. I keep a list of things I'd like to have and order something about once a month.
I bought a resistor assortment from Joe Knows Electronics or Sparkfun or Elenco through Amazon.com.
