*Footnote:*  The diagram on page 6 of the KAT500 manual shows the need for a
Key Line Interrupter, but the diagram is with all 3 ELECRAFT units: K3,
KPA500, KAT500,
and not my situation of using a non Elecraft amp. The accompanying
explanatory
note on page 5 refers to "external equipment" (such as a Step IR
controller); this is
why I contacted customer support asking if I needed a Key Line Interrupter.
Again I 
say that there must have been a miscommunication. I have no intention here
of
'complaining', only that Elecraft needs to be clear about how to connect the
3 units
as in my situtaion - with a diagram as well as clear explanatory notes.
