K3 NR-- it has been mentioned some time ago that 1 thru 4 were best for cw and 5 thru 8 were best for ssb, I don't know the truth to this but I do know that on 6-20m ssb that 7-2 or 3 or 8-2 or 3 works very well but it can reduce speaker volume and especially headphone volume which I've resolved.
I've also noticed that with rf gain at 2 o'clock, turning agc off reduces noise. I'd be interested as to why this is so. My interest is in digging weak signals out. I only go to 40 & 80 if I can't find anything on 6-20 or 60.
