It's always the boat anchors. The movie about the ham kid who found his dead dad on the air was Heathkit I think. I guess they look more like "real radios" to non-hams.
That movie was "Frequency" starring Dennis Quaid. (Hope I spelled his name correctly). I beleive an SB-301 was used as a transceiver.
I don't believe the new Harrison Ford movie with the SX-42 & SX-23 has been released yet
