When I was trying to get the Yaesu FTM-10 installed in my Miata to receive AM broadcast, HRO Sunnyvale let me run through 4 or 5 2M-70cm whips to find one that would allow AM reception. I ended up with a small Larson whip and a lot of respect for a store which would let me take the antennas out to the parking lot to try them with the radio.

test. None of them worked.
