Hi Steve,

What firmware rev are you using?

If you're using 1.57 or later, the release note info below applies.
You can use the procedure to clear the ATU TUNE settings for the band
you're on (see below). Release notes are always available with new
firmware.

I believe your KX3 resets its power to 5W because of high SWR caused
by one or more bad ATU settings that are due to you tuning into that
high SWR load. The ATU will use the memorized settting that is
nearest in frequency to one you've already tuned.

Anyway, you can try this and no damage will come from it.

Note: If you switch to a different antenna, such as when taking the
KX3 into the field, you may want to clear old ATU LC settings for one
or more bands prior to doing new auto-tunes. To do this, locate the
ATU MD menu entry, then hold CLR (hold function of the OFS/B knob).
You can change bands from within this menu entry using BAND +/-.

into a low SWR output on 20 at over 5 W. When I set it to 10 W, resets
itself to five. Other bands are fine. This smells like something in
firmware. Is there anywhere to clear it?
