I just received a KAF2 audio filter kit for my K2 and I am considering a few
mods when I build it, to increase the bandwidth somewhat, and to increase the
gain.  My use of the K2 is mostly for VHF weak signal work with transverters,
often outdoors with lots of background noise (surf, crickets !) so more overall
gain would be useful on weak signals, and in HF CW contests where I'd like to
get more rejection of signals far off frequency more than I need really narrow
bandwidth. I am familiar with the notes from KI6WX on bandwidth and from
Elecraft on increasing gain (both referenced in LA3ZA's mods list) and I have
the capability to model the circuit and predict frequency response.

Has anyone else tried different variations on the filter bandwidths and if so
what are your impressions of the results, and are there any hidden traps in
making changes ?
