The K9W Wake Island Dxpedition is back on track and should be on the air this weekend (Nov 3) if all goes to schedule.
(See announcement below and http://wake2013.org/index.html )

They are running K3s and KPA500's, so they should both sound great and have sensitive ears!

I thought you'd like to know that late Monday, 28-October, we received
permission from the USAF to visit Wake Atoll. You can read the Press
   Release on the K9W website.

I leave tomorrow (Wednesday, October 30) for Honolulu to meet up with the
team, then we depart for Wake at 0230 on Friday morning, November 1. We
hope to be operational by November 3 and continue on the air until November
15.

We're excited that this is Commemorative DXpedition is finally coming
together because our primary objective is to honor the Forgotten 98 civilian
contractors who lost their lives on October 7, 1943 during WWII -- 70 years
   ago. http://wake2013.org/pages/forgotten98.html

And, of course, we're looking forward to putting Wake Atoll QSOs into as
many logs as possible over the next two weeks!

If you'd like to help the DXpedition with a personal donation, here is the
   Sponsors page:

Assuming we have good internet access, I plan to keep in touch via the K9W
   website.

Wish us luck -- I'll be looking for you in the pileups. : >)

   John, K6MM
