Thanks Elecraft for making K3, I also love my KX3. While I passed my 20 wpm code for extra in 2000 just before the cut over, I am not great at CW, sending or receiving. (I plan to work on it more this winter on a local slownet).
Anyway, using the K3 this weekend, I was able to really enjoy doing the ARRL Sweepstakes CW contest. Using the 250Hz filter turned down to 150Hz DSP, the CW decoder worked awesome. Using N1MM and a recent call database for Sweepstakes, I could easily decode with the K3 decoder and some by ear the exchange, capture the serial number and verify the rest of the exchanged. I used a WinKeyer lite to key the radio with N1MM. I didn't figure out the settings in N1MM to key the K3 direct. If anyone knows that exchange code, please share. During CQ WW SSB, I copied off some N1MM exchange code that activitated the built in voice keyer. I rarely had to talk, which made the operation quiet and less bothersome for the XYL.
