It is interesting to see the concepts that many have taken to
supporting a KX3 (in the shack).
Early on I made "quick and dirty" solution to installing my KX3 in
the shack. I do not have the optional paddle, either, so I utilized
the pre-tapped holes on that surface of the KX3 enclosure to bolt a
thin sheet of aluminum to the radio after having bent the sheet to an
angle that displayed the radio a pleasant angle for use. I would
guess the angle is about 75-80 degree. The bracket is then held down
on my wooden shelves with two small wood screws.
This not real convenient to remove if you frequently take the KX3 out
of the shack for portable or mobile use. I was waiting to see what
the mobile mount would look like. Need something secure but easy to
remove that works both in the shack and mobile.
Since eventually I will use my KX3-2M as IF radio for microwave
operating in the field (high places), I need a method that works with
my portable mw antennas (18-inch dish and large horn).
Keep the ideas coming!
