I am currently after a decent 2m / 70cms radio which I can use in the
mountains and also with satellites. The IC-7000 would fit the bill but then
there's the K2 + transverter option.
Has anyone taken a K2 + transverter out for portable (battery or solar cell)
use?
The downside of the IC-7000 is the RX current drain (1.2A) whereas the K2 +
transverter would be significantly less.
