FYI

When I received my KPA500 kit, one of the three U3 leads on the Power Supply
Module was very brittle and broke when I tried to reposition the heat
spreader during installation. I obtained a new U3 and installed it. The
amplifier did not work when the new U3 was installed, and the heat spreader
became very hot. I found out the power supply PCB is a double sided board,
and the three U3 leads must complete the path from top to bottom of the
board. Upon removing (desoldering) the broken U3, I broke the path of one
or more of these solder-through holes. I corrected the problem by soldering
all three leads on each side of the board. The heat spreader temperature
returned to normal, and the KPA500 came to life and has worked well since.
