I second what K9YC said. A big thanks to Eric and Wayne for the sponsorship they provide to DX-peditions.

Elecraft has sure become the "standard" in DX-pedition gear.

I worked VK6FZM/MM on Sunday night, both phone (WB9Z op) and CW (K0IR op), on 20M long-path. They had a terrific signal and I think they are using a trap vertical lashed to the railing of the boat. On Monday at my sunset I worked them on 40M long-path and they were a solid S9 here on my K3.

The FT5ZM Dxpedition is at sea heading for Amsterdam Island running a KX3 + KXPA100 as VK6FZM/MM.

So they have been running 100W and producing good signals on 20 and 40M during the short openings to our part of the world!.

To track their progress, see: http://www.amsterdamdx.org/about-dxpedition/

In my browser, I see only dots, no indication of position.

DX spots on: http://www.dxsummit.fi/Search.aspx (search on VK6FZM/MM)

Once on the island, the DXpedition will be running K3s and KPA500s.

Thanks to Eric and Wayne for your considerable support of this trip.
