Well, I may be pouring cold water.  Compared with HF radio, high end multimode 
VHF/UHF radios is of much less demand.

The current XV transverter series with K3 is also not quite a solution for 
serious V/U operators especially digital mode user.  Frequency and power 
stability of K radio + XV transverters is often an issue for operation in V/U.  
I encountered this issue when I built a couple of XV transverters especially 
the XV432.

Regrettably, there are only a few choices of transverters in the market.  
Perhaps, market demand is too limited to justify a profitable production.
