Ray, The most feasible way would be a retrofit surface mount prebuilt SSB module and its interface requirements for the existing KX1. People still build the radio but simply add the SSB module IF they want it. Like everything......publicise an expression of interest request, see what happens. No, Elecraft don't have to make it but, it would be nice if they did :-) Look at the HCT, started as a project and evolved into a product, specifically for one radio model, the KX3. I wonder how many KX1s have been sold, to date?
