As mentioned in the K3 owner's manual SPLIT is not available for all mode combinations. If you see "N/A" flashed on VFO B when you try to enter split, then either the VFO A and B modes in effect at present are not usable in SPLIT, or you may have VFO B in a different mode than you think. Try tapping A>B twice to ensure that VFO A and B are in the same mode.
In any case where SPLIT isn't available you can always use RIT or XIT.
