Rocky has been my "go to" application for my homebrew SDR uses for many years. While it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other applications, it has the best frequency domain display available, it is rock solid, and for homebrew use, it can control an si570 through the I2C bus with the addition of a couple of chips. I use it with my KX3 to monitor the output of newly built SDR transmitters, as well as rebuilt boat anchor transmitters until I am sure they are working properly. For the $0 price, I have not found an application that can give me as much information about the signal quality as Rocky.
I am not sure which article in QST you are talking about. Be careful, it is the April issue, and QST editors are known for their spoofs! I'm stimulated to ask this by the panadaptor article in the current QST, which strikes me as a ludicrous example of doing things the hard way. -- 73, Pete N4ZR Check out the Reverse Beacon Network at http://reversebeacon.net, blog at reversebeacon.blogspot.com.
