Hi I have a K2 with its ATU and the T1, and I must say that the K2’s built in ATU works great for me, I have a half size windom that needs a ATU on any freq below 40m and the K2’s ATU can match it on top band without problem. The T1 gets a decent match on Topband and a good match on 80, I also have the K1 with its ATU and that works great even with a short wire on 40 and up but with a 80m card fitted it can only get me a 2:1 match on 80m, if I turn it off and use the T1 I get a near 1:1 match.
For my money the built in ATU for the K2 is the best internal ATU I have found, I also have a FT1000 MK5 and that just about gets a match on 80 and doesn’t like topband at all.
