This is just a curiosity I have noticed, and it is not causing me any
trouble, but I'm wondering if there is any significance to the tones I hear
when changing bands. I know about the CONFIG settings to allow for hearing
tones when activating various switches, and of course that is what this tone
comes from. In my case, when I am changing bands or modes, I sometimes hear
a tone which is about twice as long as normal, and a bit higher in
frequency. It seems this happens randomly, but often enough that I am aware
of it. Does the tone length have any meaning? Could contact bounce/noise
be responsible? This anomaly also seems to happen more often (but not
always) if I change bands or modes quickly.
