Hi Eric,

Forgive me, Eric, for adding yet another post to this long thread. Jim was
very justified in correcting the erroneous information about the reason for
introducing loading coils on long distance phone lines. His information is
right on the money; the purpose was to improve the flatness within the audio
passband, not to make it worse.
