If you do not have the special cable to connect the KPA100 AUX IO connector to the computer, you will have to make one. The diagram is in the KPA100 manual. Do not connect a full serial cable or USB serial adapter directly to the KPA100 AUX IO - it is NOT a serial port, it contains internal K2 signals for operation of external Elecraft devices such as the KAT100, XV transverters, and KRC2.

If you have the KAT100, you will also need to make the end that connects to the KAT100 - see the KAT100 manual for a full diagram of both cables.
