The XYL and I took in the convention this weekend. It was a great time, as usual.
This was the second year that the convention has been held at the convention center downtown Visalia, and is a great improvement over the old Holiday Inn, when we attended in the 90s.
We visited the exhibit hall on Friday afternoon, and the first stop was at the Elecraft booth, as always. Just when I thought that it would be only a social visit, Eric had a new option for the KX3 to show off - the PX3 panadapter. It looks every bit like the P3, but is scaled in size to match the KX3. At 13 ounces and 140 ma current consumption, it should even make some trips to the field and to Field Day.
Most of the vendors' wares were more suited to the QRO gang. US Tower, Alpha Amplifiers and Force12 and N6BT Antennas had representatives and gear present.
There were five excellent presentations Saturday afternoon about recent DXpeditions: Navassa, Banaba, Lakshadweep, Myanmar and Swaziland. The photos and videos were amazing!
