No disrespect to Phil, but Cannon developed the D-Subminiature connector
family, and Cannon calls it a DE-15.

is a fairly good reference.
If you order an HD-15 connector, you'll get a DE-15. If you order a
DB-15, you'll probably get a DE-15 and not a DA-15.
