At least HP had sense enough t use the 4 conductor 3.5mm plug the
right way and make the sleeve ground/common rather than insulate it
from the chassis and use the second ring as common!

Or get radio control (CAT), PTT, CW, FSK, and sound card all in one
USB connected box like the microHAM USB Interface III or DigiKeyer II.

You probably want this

But it is hard to tell without knowing what type of new computer you got.

Subject: [Elecraft] TIP, RING,RING, Sleeve plug
Hi to the group
I had my computer go bad and replaced it this week end. I have
everything working except my old computer had separate AF and MIC
jacks. My new computer has a combined AF/MIC jack. I need to find
that kind of plug so I can build an adaptor but I don't even know
what it is called and where to get one. I would hope it is something
Radio Shack sells as that is the only place I can get parts without
paying big shipping charges.
73 and thanks for your help.
