You might want to check the charging source voltage when this happens.
A low input voltage to the KX3 will cause LO SPPLY to pop up while
charging.

>From p4 of the KXBC3's instllation manual, Error Message Table:
The external power supply voltage is too low for charging the internal
battery. If this occurs when trying to start a charging cycle, tap any
switch to clear the message. If this occurs during a charging cycle,
the charging cycle will resume automatically when the condition is
corrected.
