This morning I finally installed the 200 Hz 5-pole filter I got about a month
ago. Followed the procedure and did the configuration of filters, offsets,
gain, TX/RX, etc. I did all the configuration using the K3 utility program
instead of the K3 menu items.

In order to put in the new 200 Hz filter, I slid all the others up one position
so that my filters are:

     FL1: 6 KHz 8-pole
     FL2: 2.7 KHz 5-pole
     FL3: 1.8 KHz 8-pole
     FL4: 400 Hz 8-pole
     FL5: 200 Hz 5-pole

After doing configuration I checked things out on the bands and noticed that
the P3 was not behaving as it usually does in terms of the following anomalies:

-- my reference level in dB had changed significantly so that
almost nothing but the strongest signals were showing up.

-- The span width in KHz had changed (seemingly by itself).

-- The width of the P3 cursor was no longer tracking the filter
             width changes.

So, I readjusted the reference level setting, reset the span width, but I
couldn't get the
P3 cursor width to track the filter width selection on the K3 until I did a
hard reset of the
P3.

All this is background for my question.

Question: is this expected behavior and actions needed when filters are
changed or did
I leave off a step. I couldn't find any reference to anything to do with the
P3 when the
K3 filters are changed and re-configured. I am concerned in that maybe there
is something
else I have not done. So far, I think things are behaving normally though it
has only been
about 15 minutes since the P3 reset so have not looked at everything.

By the way, previous filter layout before adding the new 200 Hz filter was:

     FL1: <empty>
     FL2: 6 KHz 8-pole
     FL3: 2.7 KHz 5-pole
     FL4: 1.8 KHz 8-pole
     FL5: 400 Hz 8-pole

Thanks for your help.
