Hi all, For reasons unknown, one of the small encoder knobs (E980088 for the high cut filter on the front panel of my K3) broke. Elecraft very kindly sent a few spares. I checked the manual for installation instructions. They are just supposed to be pushed on --- lining up the flat part of the shaft with the flat part of the inside of the knob.
For whatever reason, i cannot get the replacement knobs to go on --- or at least I am afraid of damaging the encoder because of the force needed. All of the replacements they sent look the same, all look right. The replacement is sitting about 3/8" higher (further from the panel) than the others. Any advice? 73 de Brian W3BW *Brian F.
