Thank you for the replies and encouragement Terry, Bill and Stephen. I had plugged in the iMic while away from the radio and got the not supported messages while not plugged into the radio.
Tonight, I did a full power off of the iPad with the iMic unplugged, powered it on, plugged in the iMic with the radio connected and then started the iSDR app. Lo and behold it worked! Not even a not supported message!
