Ok, I'll try once more to get this past the spam police------ My audio problems have all been resolved, thanks to suggestions by Ron AC7AC and Don W3FPR. I did the 2nd filter mod and the matched crystal mod and it made a day and night difference---should have done it years ago. I have a word recognition problem, due to ear trauma a few years ago, and have shied away from ssb operation since. I bought the MFJ Speech Intelligibility Enhancer and while it made a big difference in my Kenwood TS520S, it seemed to make the K2 worse. This was the sibilance effect that I mentioned in the first post. As usual, I left reading the DSP manual until everylthing else failed. It told me that the denoiser would affect speech quality so I turned it off and the sibilance disappeared and I could understand most of what was coming out of the speaker, even with the highs boosted. It was a combination of the denoiser and boosting the higher frequencies with the audio unit that caused it.
