Check out amqrp, njqrp, norcal and KD1JV's websites. Keep in mind that receiver performance will probably suffer with a DDS VFO though, compared with a good PTO.

KD1JV had a really neat 4-band rig called ATS-3, but he may be sold out on the current run. Most of these are project kits, and are done in runs of 100 or so. Once sold out, you have to wait for the next run, or find an unbuilt kit.

All the DDS kits are heavily SMD, so they are not Elecrafts when it comes to assembly.

I've been researching the DDS VFO topic on the Internet and found that
somethings have been done in this area in the USA, but most of the sites are
found in Japan or Europe. Why has the DDS-VFO type of circuit caught on here?
I am looking for a kit or a project I could build for some Xtal control rigs I
have rather than buy Xtals. Seems to me that would a nice way to go. I know
that Flex Radio has done quite a bit of work with DDS and so has Elecraft. I
wonder if there is a market out there for DDS VFO technology and a crystal
replacement....

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply. If you don't
have any Common Sense - get some and use it. If you can't find any common
sense, ask for help from somebody who has some common sense.
