One thing. The ComPilot manual includes:
"Persons using medical devices such as pacemakers
are not permitted to use this device."
Perhaps they're overly conservative, but worth a
discussion with cardiologist first.
Likely is conservative. I've had a pacemaker for 7
years and my KPA500 at full power seems to have no
effect on it -- nor on my Phonak hearing aid.
Using a 5 W HT also has no effect.

headphones at all except when I have to operate
ssb, because my mic is on the headphones! ;-)
You can also use them on TV's, stereos, even on
your PC, among many other devices.

I've wondered if there's a way to feed audio

I use a Phonak accessory called ComPilot that
works with my Phonak
hearing devices. It hangs around the neck -
the "loop" is the antenna -
to Bluetooth connect to my cell phone on my
belt. It also has a 3.5 mm
stereo jack that can bring audio directly to
the hearing devices, again
by Bluetooth. I'm sure that there are similar
accessories for other
brands of hearing devices.
