If your in split, and the VFOs track, you have to hold the "sub" button to unlink
the VFOs.

George,

That happens when the VFOs are locked. Hold the lock button (to the right of the VFO A knob) to toggle the ON/OFF state of LOCK.

I am using a friends K3 at NP2X this weekend, and quickly noticed that VFO B tracks VFO A when in Split mode. I have never seen this happen on my K3, and am unable to find out to stop B from tracking A. Yes, I have RTFM, but am still in the dark?

Suggestion please. Go easy on me, I'm not on the island rum!
