My washing machine does something very similar to this.  The source is very 
obvious since the carriers rise up and down in time with the washing machine 
agitator motion.  I’m not saying that is what you are hearing, but it just 
shows that EMI is not a priority for modern appliance designers.  It is the 
first time that I have had a washing machine that has been the source of an EMI 
problem.  I haven’t spent much time trying to figure out how to eliminate it 
since hitting the washing machine OFF button makes it go away.  It was nice of 
the manufacturer to add that feature  ;-)
