If I'm understanding your question properly, going by memory, I had the KXUSB plugged into the KXPA100 with that setup, and was able to use computer-control of the KX3. I *think* I was turning off the PX3 when I was flashing the KX3 firmware, but it's been a bit so don't quote me on that being necessary.
